Horizon 2020: Consultation on Network and IoT Technologies

The European Commission's Network Technologies Unit in Directorate General Communications Networks, Content and Technologies (DG CONNECT) has launched a consultation to gather opinions and views on future Network Technologies and Internet of Things (IoT) research and innovation challenges that need to be addressed in the 2016-17 Horizon 2020 Work Programme.
Specifically, the purpose of the consultation is to identify:

• the most promising technological developments that should be subject of research or innovation support under the next Horizon 2020 work programme, both for future networks and IoT systems, and in view of contributing to the competitiveness of European industry;

• those technologies that may be seen as 'roadmap based', and those that may be seen as more 'disruptive';

• opportunities for innovation;

• requirements for large scale trials and testbeds and their added value; and

• cross-cutting issues and benefits.

 Results are to be discussed in a public workshop planned for early September 2014.
