QuantERA is a network of 31 agencies from 26 countries, coordinated by the National Science Centre, Poland, supporting research in Quantum Technologies. With a budget of over EUR 34 M, including co-funding from the European Commission, QuantERA will support international research projects in the field of Quantum Technologies.


221 proposals were submitted to the first stage of the QuantERA Call, and 92 of those proposals were invited to submit full proposals in the second evaluation phase, which closed 11.07.2017.


Thematic scope of proposals should include one or more of the following areas:

  1. Quantum communication
  2. Quantum simulation
  3. Quantum computation
  4. Quantum information sciences
  5. Quantum metrology sensing and imaging
  6. Novel ideas and applications in quantum science and technologies


The QauntERA call timeline:

  • 15 March 2017 - Pre proposal submission
  • May 2017 - Notification of accepted pre-proposals to submit a full proposal
  • 11 July 2017 -  Full proposal submission
  • October 2017 - Notification of accepted proposals
  • Early 2018 - Start date for accepted projects
